Our small group 4WD tours and scenic flights have been designed to make the most of your stay whilst at Rangelands Outback Camp. Some of these tours are already included in our exclusive multi-night packages. Alternatively, you can add your preferred tours to your existing accommodation booking.

SMALL GROUP 4WD TOURING

Australian Age of Dinosaurs ½ Day Tour

Visit the Australian Age of Dinosaurs with the largest collection of Australian dinosaur bones in the world. You will see real bones and professional animation to recreate the dinosaurs before your eyes. Your tour at the Australian Age of Dinosaurs Museum includes theLaboratory, Collection Room, Dinosaur Canyon and March of the Titanosaurs.

Dinosaur Stampede ¾ Day Tour

Travel through rugged mesa country to see a snapshot of an ancient environment and dinosaur footprints from 95 million years ago. Your tour also includes a stop at the spectacular Merton Gorge located on a private cattle station. Join a guided tour of the Dinosaur Stampede at Lark Quarry with time to explore the spinifex walking track.

Carisbrooke Station & Dinosaur Stampede Day Tour

Visit Carisbrooke Station and the Dinosaur Stampede. Join a guided tour of the Dinosaur Stampede at Lark Quarry Conservation Park featuring 3300 dinosaur footprints that were made 95 million years ago. Enjoy exclusive access to Carisbrooke Station to see the Three Sisters and Meteor Lookout. The views are spectacular.

Bladensburg National Park Tour

One of the original homesteads in the Winton region, Bladensburg National Park is steeped in history but also has the rugged beauty of rock formations as well as diverse ecosystems for the region. You’ll visit the old homestead and shearing shed, Scrammy Gorge and Lookout and the permanent water hole.

Opalton Day Tour

Travel south of Winton to the opal mining community of Opalton – a location on the TV series Outback Opal Hunters. You’ll meet up with a local Opalton guide for a tour the old town site and opal mining areas before trying your hand at fossicking for opals. Hear how opal is formed, different types of opal and different ways of mining it.

The Ultimate Pub Crawl

Visit one of Queensland’s most isolated pubs. The Middleton Hotel was built during the horse & stagecoach era and was a changing station where tired horses were replaced with fresh
ones in the middle of nowhere between Winton and Boulia. Visit the “Goldstone” movie set and the “Conn Waterhole.” before returning Rangelands Outback Camp.

Small Group 4WD Tours are operated by Red Dirt Tours, a Savannah Guide Enterprise based in Winton. Tours are subject to availability, minimum numbers and booking conditions by Red Dirt Tours. Helicopter tours are operated by Elite Aviation Services Pty Ltd based in Winton, Qld.   All tours are sold on a per seat basis. Tours are only confirmed with a minimum of 2 passengers. Helicopter capacity allows 2-3 passengers on a flight whilst Light Aircraft capacity allows 4 passengers on a flight. All flights are subject to availability & confirmed passenger weights (operation weight limits per seat are applicable) and weather.  Seating allocation is based on a weight & balance calculation and at the discretion of the ground crew or pilot in command to ensure the safe carriage of all passengers.  Please note that all passengers are required to wear a seatbelt during flight regardless of any medical condition.
